Liston ‘Huntie’ Sprauve

SUMMARY
The Liston ‘Huntie’ Sprauve ambulance boat is a purpose built response vessels for the U.S. Virgin Islands Department of Health, serving as the water ambulance for the island of St. John. With a top speed of 30 knots, a 10ft tender, scene lights, PA system, and ample working deck space, this vessel also served as an emergency response vehicle for the entire St. Thomas – St. John district. The catamaran design is an ideal platform, allowing for a large 300 ft2 air conditioned patient compartment which is capable of handling the rough local waters. The patient compartment has a complete medical fit-out and can accomodate 6 patients and 8 medical staff. The raised pilothouse, separate from the patient area, provides the captain and crew excellent visibility and command of the ship.
