Caribbean Spirit

SUMMARY

Caribbean Spirit, 78′ Day Charter is the largest sailing craft that we have built, sat at the cusp of our transition from wood to foam. This was in the spring of 2001. All of her large panels were foam/glass vacuum bagged including her hulls which were built in a female mold. In contrast, all of her primary structural members were still engineered from Douglass Fir; main cross beams, bridge-deck floor beams, head-stay beam and wing-spar. In order to keep the sail handling controllable she sports a schooner rig with masts of equal height. She still sails like a banshee!  Capable of high performance sailing and USCG certified for 100 passengers.
